At the Maribor Pohorje ski resort with Areh in this winter season, where so far there has been little natural snow, we are grooming the slopes almost exclusively with snow from snow cannons. These cannons have been operating practically all the time in the last days and weeks when conditions allowed for snowmaking.
On Maribor Pohorje, part of the snowmaking system from the base to Trikotna jasa is completely automated, meaning that the cannons turn on automatically at sufficiently low air temperatures and water from reservoirs and appropriate humidity. Unfortunately, in recent days, the combination of these conditions was not suitable, so the system did not start.
Considering that we are only in early February according to the calendar, despite the forecasted higher temperatures for the next few days, we believe that weather conditions will still allow for snowmaking during the winter season. At the same time, we also hope that there will be some natural snowfall, creating a true winter atmosphere on Pohorje.
