Bike Park Pohorje Maribor, managed by the company Marprom from the JHMB Group, is opening a training center for professional UCI downhill mountain biking teams. The first team to visit this week will be the legendary Syndicate Santa Cruz, featuring mountain biking star Jackson Goldstone.
We are delighted that one of the best teams in the World Cup has chosen our bike park for their training. Thanks to its top-tier World Cup track (black difficulty level), which ranks among the most technically demanding and best downhill tracks in the world, our park is an attractive training destination for all UCI World Cup teams.
In addition to the World Cup track, the training center for professional teams includes indoor facilities located at the base station of the Pohorje cable car. These spaces cover approximately 160 m² and are equipped with all necessary equipment for warm-ups, stretching, and cardio training. Teams also have access to sanitary facilities, a bike suspension tuning area, a meeting and video analysis room, and a relaxation zone.
This weekend, we will also be unveiling the new Santa Cruz bike model at Mariborsko Pohorje, promising an exciting weekend ahead. We invite you to watch the best professional downhill riders in action.
The Syndicate team consists of Nina Hoffmann, Laurie Greenland, Jackson Goldstone, and newcomers Ellie Hulsebosch and Felix Griffiths, along with mountain biking legend Steve Peat. Their visit on April 3 will include a track inspection, bike setup, and team presentation, followed by active training sessions on the World Cup track from April 4 to 6.
With this important step, Bike Park Pohorje Maribor strengthens its position on the international scene and cements its reputation as a top training destination for the world’s best teams.
Following the winter season, Bike Park Pohorje Maribor has already opened five bike trails: Family Line, Flow Line, World Cup, Fury Trail, and Red Fox Trail. During the Syndicate Santa Cruz team’s training sessions, the World Cup track will be closed to recreational riders, but all other trails will remain open.
In 2024, Bike Park Pohorje Maribor welcomed over 21,000 riders—twice as many as the previous year. With various planned improvements, including new trails, a skills park for learning biking techniques, and an expanded event program, we anticipate even greater attendance this year. The park operates year-round, including during the winter season when conditions allow, making it a key pillar of the Pohorje 365 offering.
