Skiing on Pohorje

Mariborsko Pohorje, together with Areh, is considered to be the largest winter center in Slovenia, covering approximately 42 kilometers of various ski trails and pistes with 17 operating cable cars and ski lifts.

With wide variety of pistes – for beginers and also advanced skiers, Pohorje has especially established itself as a popular family ski resort. In good snow conditions, Mariborsko Pohorje and Areh are connected via ski slopes and also by regular bus transport.

The ski slopes of Mariborsko Pohorje flow practically into the town, as you can descend all the way to the valley (with sufficient amounts of snow) along the Čopova route and also along the Snow Stadium. Čopova route is considered to be one of the most popular pistes among recreational skiers, and the slightly more demanding Snow Stadium is also a traditional venue for the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup.
