Favorable weather conditions in recent days have enabled intensive snowmaking on the ski slopes of Mariborsko Pohorje and Areh. Winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to skiing on Mariborsko Pohorje this week, reaching as far as the lower station of the Poštela chairlift or Trikotna jasa. By next week, skiing will extend all the way to the valley, starting with the Snow Stadium.
The ski lift and slope operator, Marprom, part of the JHMB Group, is making every effort to take full advantage of the current low temperatures for snow production. For several days now, snowmaking has also been underway on the Čopova slope, which leads directly to the lower station of the Pohorje Cable Car and is a favorite among many visitors.
Marprom has over 100 snow cannons at its disposal, more than 20 of which are installed on stationary towers. Key conditions for efficient snow production include air temperatures below -2.5°C, low relative humidity, and low water temperatures for snowmaking.
Due to intensive snowmaking efforts on the slopes leading to the valley, the Bike Park Pohorje Maribor is temporarily closed until further notice. We thank all bike park visitors for their understanding during this closure.
