The continuation of the winter season at the Mariborsko Pohorje ski resort with Areh brings several new features for easier access and an even more pleasant experience on the snow. With the aim of encouraging as many visitors as possible to use public city transport to reach the ski resort, bus transport for skiers on the G6 Vzpenjača line will now be free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays.
This will apply every weekend until the end of the winter season, i.e. until 31 March 2026. A skier is considered to be any passenger who has ski or other winter equipment (skis, sleds) with them when boarding the bus. If you choose the G6 line, you can also park for free at the Tabor Hall and walk to the Dvorana Tabor – Gorkega bus stop, which is up to 300 metres away, from where the bus takes you directly to the lower station of the Pohorje cable car gondola lift.
We therefore encourage skiers to use public city transport on line G6, which will help you avoid parking difficulties at the foot of Pohorje, where the number of parking spaces is limited. For those who nevertheless decide to come by car, an additional parking area will be available on the meadow in front of Villa Mari along the road towards Radvanje Castle. This parking area will be connected to the lower station of the Pohorje cable car by a minibus, which will circulate free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
We also kindly ask all those planning to ski at Mariborsko Pohorje or Areh and arriving by car to follow the instructions of the stewards, who will try to ensure optimal use of the available parking spaces. The number of these spaces also depends on the traffic culture of each individual.
For faster purchase of ski passes and less waiting at ticket offices, we recommend using the three ticket machines installed at the upper station of the Pohorje cable car and at the lower stations of the Ruška and Pisker chairlifts. In addition, a new machine will soon be operational, where tickets purchased via the website.
