Change at the Snežni Stadion Parking Lot in June

The Snežni Stadion parking lot (below the Arena Hotel), which has so far operated as a white zone parking area, will become a gated parking lot managed by the company Marprom, part of the JHMB Group, starting Monday, June 2, 2025. Despite the change, the first two hours of parking will remain free, while all other conditions will be aligned with those at the other two gated parking lots at the foot of Maribor’s Pohorje – Vzpenjača 1 and 2.

As such, the Snežni Stadion parking lot will now charge for parking 24/7 every day of the week (except for the first two free hours). The parking fee will be €1 per hour. Monthly rental will also be available at a cost of €45, allowing unlimited parking. For holders of daily cycling and skiing tickets, as well as personalized tickets (for the circular cable car, bike park, and skiing), parking will remain free, just as it is at the Vzpenjača 1 and 2 lots.

Before the change, the Snežni Stadion parking lot, which has 90 parking spaces, was equipped with entry and exit barriers, an automatic payment machine, and other infrastructure. This will provide users with the same functionalities as the other two gated parking lots at the foot of Pohorje: license plate recognition via camera for contactless entry/exit, payment at the exit terminal via bank card, and more.

Visitors will still have access to a number of municipal blue zone parking spaces under Pohorje, intended for short-term free parking. Additionally, the lower station of the Pohorje cable car can be easily reached by the city bus line G6 Vzpenjača, which offers an environmentally friendly and convenient alternative to driving and parking a personal vehicle.
